EIZO Launches Large 42.5-inch 4K Monitor with USB Type-C Docking for Business Professionals and Collaborative Workspaces

FlexScan EV4340X

Hakusan, Japan, June 6, 2024 – EIZO Corporation (TSE: 6737) today announced the release of the 42.5-inch FlexScan EV4340X – its largest FlexScan business professional monitor. This 4K resolution monitor offers comfortably viewing with a spacious screen and streamlined communication with USB Type-C® docking and a built-in LAN connection, making it ideal for multitasking professionals or for collaborating in meeting spaces.

Modern offices rely on a wide range of digital applications for daily operations, including word processing, email and chat communication, digital documentation, data entry and analysis, video conferencing, database management, etc. While traditional multi-monitor setups are commonly used to display multiple applications, however, they limit the user’s ability to arrange windows freely or in a different size, and the bezels between each monitor can be obtrusive to the viewer’s eye, making it difficult to focus. The FlexScan EV4340X supports 4K ultra-high-definition resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels), displaying four times the amount of information than standard Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) across a spacious 42.5-inch size screen. This provides more space for flexible arrangement of multiple applications without the obtrusive bezels, making it ideal for personal multi-tasking in the office or at home, as well as for sharing information in team meetings.

The monitor’s slim design allows users to maximize desk space while enjoying the spaciousness of the large screen. It is also easier to install than multiple monitors and uses fewer cables to keep the workspace tidy.

While modern laptops are designed to be thinner and more portable, they often have limited connectivity options. However, the EV4340X acts as docking station when connected via USB Type-C. This allows users to display video, playback audio, transmit USB signals, and supply 94 watts of power to connected devices, such as laptop computers, for streamlined hot desking or remote work.

The monitor has a dedicated LAN port built in, providing a stable wired connection for accessing the network when connecting a laptop via USB Type-C. This is useful for conducting conference calls or transferring data reliably and at high speed.

Many organizations are adopting open-space meeting areas for fostering engagement and inclusivity. The monitor includes features and functions to facilitate an efficient and lively collaborative environment. The Picture-by-Picture (PbyP) function allow the monitor to receive up to four video signals to be displayed side-by-side on one large screen. A switch on the front of the monitor allows you to select the preferred layout from a choice of 12. The monitor also has a Picture-in-Picture (PinP) function. This enables more streamlined screen sharing for efficient presentations and meetings.

The included remote control can be used to control volume, brightness, displayed input, PbyP, and other settings, as well as to turn the monitor on and off. This is useful when the user cannot reach the buttons on the front of the monitor, such as in wall-mounted installations.

Integrating stereo speakers into a monitor’s bezel often results in a bulky exterior design due to the space required. However, EIZO has developed an innovative solution to incorporate 4-watt speakers into the cabinet while maintaining a slim bezel and non-intrusive housing design. The speakers provide clear sound for both individuals and when used by several people in a conference room setting.

Contributing to a more sustainable future remains an important goal for both businesses and consumers who are looking to manufacturers to conduct environmentally friendly initiatives. The EV4340X is certified by worldwide comprehensive sustainability standards including EPEAT (Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool) and EnergyStar, demonstrating environmental awareness. This includes the use of more than 75% recycled materials, reduced power consumption, the use of recycled cardboard and newspaper in packaging and lifecycle management.

EPEAT registration varies by country. Please check for registration status.
